Since NSSI began servicing the Kitikmeot, this year marks the earliest start yet of a season. The Zélada Desgagnés was unloading cargo in the region as early as August 17. This cargo was transported all the way from the St. Lawrence River.

The Zélada Desgagnés supplied TMAC Resources at Roberts Bay, Gjoa Haven and Taloyoak, NU.  Both the communities of Cambridge Bay and Kugluktuk, NU were supplied by the vessel Anna Desgagnés. And to conclude the Kitikmeot community deliveries, the Camilla Desgagnés, supplied Kugaaruk, NU on September 9 with a direct delivery of cargo loaded in the Montreal area.

As well as providing the communities with their essential resupply requirements, NSSI successfully supplied important regional project such as  TMAC Resources with their cargo. NSSI additionally transported a large amount of building materials destined for the construction of local housing units, municipal buildings and airport terminals.

NSSI is looking forward to servicing the Kitikmeot again next season.
