Kitikmeot Caterers was honored with at the 2017 Kitikmeot Trade Show in Cambridge Bay as recipient of the 2016 KIA/TMAC IIBA Implementation Award.

This Award recognizes Kitikmeot Caterers excellence in training and its commitment to providing employment opportunities to Inuit of the Kitikmeot region.

In 2016, Kitikmeot Caterers successfully delivered a Camp Hospitality Training Program that resulted in nine graduates from across the Kitikmeot region, many of whom went on to obtain full time employment at TMAC Resource’s Hope Bay Gold Project.  Kitikmeot Caterers Inuit employment record at Hope Bay continues to grow, with more than 50% of workforce being Kitikmeot Inuit.

The annual award is given annually to a company that ensures that all aspects of the Inuit Impact and Benefit Agreement (IIBA) are adhered to in their performance on site. An IIBA Committee comprised of representatives of the Kitikmeot Inuit Association and TMAC Resources determine which recipient best follows these principles.

Congratulations Kitikmeot Caterers!
