About Kitikmeot Blasting Services
This company was originally established under the name "Kitikmeot Explosives Ltd." in partnership with Explosives Ltd. out of Calgary. In June, 2010 Orica acquired the G.L. Black holdings, which included Explosives Ltd., and who was a long-time Orica distributor.

Kitikmeot Blasting Services is well-positioned in the Kitikmeot Region of Nunavut, and in Nunavut as a whole, as a provider of packaged and bulk explosives, detonating systems, and blasting accessories. While currently only providing explosives within the Kitikmeot, we also have interest in the provision of explosives to exploration and mining companies working in the other Regions of Nunavut.

We are currently onsite at Hope Bay, with Newmont providing explosives, including packaged explosives and initiating systems for both surface work and underground development.
