The Nunavut territory is comprised of three regions; easternmost Baffin Region, the Kivalliq Region, and the westernmost Kitikmeot Region. The Kitikmeot Region spans the western and northern mainland of Nunavut, and part of Victoria, Prince of Wales, King William, and Somerset Islands. Kugluktuk (formerly Coppermine) and Cambridge Bay are its largest communities.
